Interior Minister visits firefighters who survived fatal vehicle crash during wildfire response

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan and Head of the Rescue Service/Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan visited on Thursday in a Yerevan hospital the rescuer-firefighters who survived a fatal vehicle crash during wildfire response efforts in the country’s northeast.
According to doctors, the injured rescuers from the Lori Regional Rescue Department’s Vanadzor Firefighting-Rescue Squad No. 2 are in stable, non-life-threatening condition.
Minister Sargsyan thanked the rescuer-firefighters for their service and wished them a speedy recovery.
Sergeant Taron Simonyan of the same squad died after a service vehicle crashed on Wednesday while responding to wildfires in Armenia’s Tavush Province. Four rescuer-firefighters were injured.
