Zelensky thanks Trump as U.S. leader accuses Ukraine of showing 'zero gratitude'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump following the U.S. leader’s criticism of Kyiv amid talks in Geneva on ending the war with Russia.

Trump earlier said on his Truth Social platform that Ukraine's leadership "EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS," referring to his peace plan on ending the nearly four-year conflict.

A few hours later, Zelensky wrote on X: "Ukraine is grateful to the United States, to every American heart, and personally to President Trump for the assistance that  – starting with the Javelins – has been saving Ukrainian lives."

Talks in Geneva - between delegations from the US, Ukraine, and its European allies - are focusing on a 28-point draft plan and will continue on Monday.

The BBC quoted U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as saying that a "tremendous amount of progress" has been made in talks to finalise a Ukraine peace deal.
