Prime Minister Pashinyan's press secretary warns against spread of fake information

The press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, has raised concerns over the circulation of false information by the OdaTV website. She added that some Armenian media outlets "have copied and published it, without veryfying the sources."

In a Facebook post, Baghdasaryan stated, "The OdaTV website has once again circulated false information, and a number of Armenian media outlets, without verifying the sources, have rushed to publish it, unintentionally becoming part of a disinformation chain."

She added that certain foreign sources create completely  false and provocative stories, which are then quickly spread by some internal actors, aimed at sowing distrust and further polarizing society.

Baghdasaryan has warned "as electoral processes approach, disinformation attacks targeting Armenian statehood, state institutions and public officials are expected to intensify."
