Within the framework of an official visit to the French city of Grenoble on November 13, a delegation led by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, visited STMicroelectronics to discuss prospects for deepening cooperation in the semiconductor sector, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry said in a press release.
The delegation was received by Moussa Belkhiter, Vice President of the company's Central Research and Development Group.
During the meeting, Minister Hayrapetyan and the delegation members presented Armenia's technological ecosystem, highlighting government programs and priorities in semiconductor design, artificial intelligence, and scientific research.
The Minister underscored the importance of developing partnerships between Armenian and leading international technology companies. He noted that state policy aims to support the growth of the national technological ecosystem by fostering joint initiatives between the government, academia, and industry to ensure sustainable sectoral development and international competitiveness.
Representatives of STMicroelectronics, in turn, presented the company’s main areas of activity, business model, and technological ecosystem.
STMicroelectronics' strong research presence in Grenoble and its leading expertise in design, packaging, and manufacturing technologies align closely with Armenia’s goal of advancing its semiconductor design, assembly, and testing capabilities.
It should be noted that STMicroelectronics is a global leader in semiconductor design and manufacturing, serving the automotive, industrial, and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors.
