Pashinyan vows to release past NK negotiation documents exposing external “leash” over Armenia, lambasts ex-leaders

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reaffirmed on Monday that he would release the negotiations documents that existed in the past for the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
In a statement on social media, Pashinyan said the documents will reaffirm his earlier statements that “other forces” had been using the Karabakh conflict as a “leash” against Armenia.
He made the remarks in response to accusations against his administration by former Presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan.
The documents will be released by the end of this year, he said.
“The recent statements by KR and SS once again confirm that the Karabakh issue has been a leash in the hands of certain powers, used to keep the Republic of Armenia tied to the nearest tree,” Pashinyan said, referring to the former Presidents by their initials. “Concepts such as the rights of peoples and historical justice have been nothing more than smoke screens for the true objective.”
“All the negotiation processes and proposals have been about shortening the leash,” Pashinyan said, writing “короткий поводок” in Russian, which means “shorter leash”.
“By the end of the year, the negotiation documents will be published, and this will become even more evident,” Pashinyan added.
“All the proposals to “stop the war” were in fact about shortening the leash (a topic I have addressed publicly many times). The ultimate goal of this process of shortening the leash was to put an end to Armenia’s statehood. In that scenario, the Karabakh conflict was meant to end solely with the loss of Armenia’s statehood. The Republic of Armenia, thanks to the lives sacrificed by our martyrs and to the historical intuition of our people in Armenia and Karabakh, managed to break free from that scenario. [Robert Kocharyan] and [Serzh Sargsyan] are proposing a return to that scenario — one that was originally written and implemented under the slogan “Lenin, Party, Gorbachev,” and, in all likelihood, under the patronage of the KGB. And since their capabilities are obviously zero, an attempt is being made to form a “cohort of young Lenin-Party-Gorbachev supporters” under the patronage of old KGB agents. The expected result: 0 + 0 = 0. With the support of the Government, our people from Karabakh must settle within the Republic of Armenia. True, this is a large, complex program that requires significant resources, but we will continue to implement it,” the Prime Minister said.
