The Press Secretary of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, has responded to the recent statements made by the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.
In a Facebook post, Baghdasaryan stated that on the eve of November 9, a classic scenario of hybrid warfare was launched against Armenia through a coordinated and multi-layered information attack.
“These days, as the Azerbaijani side becomes more active in the information field, the goal is obvious: when the "golden child" grown in greenhouses with foreign capital, joins this information campaign is also understandable; he is merely voicing the text given to him. But when a person who led Armenia makes illogical statements and manipulations that do not correspond to the facts, many questions inevitably arise,” she said.
Baghdasaryan stressed that Sargsyan’s statements [made during the Imnemnim podcast] were not political analysis but rather a repetition of an old and worn-out record.
“These theses have been repeatedly and substantively destroyed through consistent steps made in the direction of the increase of armament volumes in 2018-2020, army transformation processes, and modernization of the defense sector. It was, of course, impossible to close a three-decade gap in just two and a half years,” she said.
Baghdasaryan added that Sargsyan is attempting to cast the shadow of his own years of inaction onto others.
She concluded that such public statements may either stem from a lack of foresight or serve a foreign agenda.
