Armenian Defense Minister notes 'toned-down' Azerbaijani rhetoric since peace summit

Azerbaijan’s rhetoric has changed since the Washington accords of August 8, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said on Monday.

He emphasized that the change is visible on the border as well.

“It is a fact that Azerbaijan’s rhetoric has sharply toned down and changed since August 8, and this is also visible on the border. So when we speak about actual peace, it is by no means made up — it is a reality,” the minister told reporters.

Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed a peace treaty on August 8 during a U.S.-brokered summit. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have both said that peace has been established between the two nations.
