FM Mirzoyan, CBD Executive Secretary discuss preparations for COP17

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

The parties discussed the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be held in Yerevan, Armenia, the foreign ministry said.

It was noted that significant progress has been made in both the substantive and technical preparation of the event.

The parties exchanged views on ensuring the successful organization of the conference and promoting cooperation within the UN framework, emphasizing the readiness of the Republic of Armenia, the Convention Secretariat, and international partners to work closely together in this regard.
