Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has questioned whether the “brilliant solutions” to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as described by Armenia’s three former presidents — Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan — were ever real or simply political illusions never meant to be implemented.
The three former presidents have claimed that they had better options for negotiated solutions to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during their presidencies.
In a post on Facebook, Pashinyan said the three former leaders are either lying or displayed criminal inaction during their rule.
“Why, then, did all three former leaders of Armenia fail to implement the brilliant solutions to the Karabakh issue that they themselves described? There can be two explanations for this. The first is that they displayed criminal inaction — perhaps even serving the interests of foreign countries rather than Armenia’s — thereby depriving us of a brilliant solution or solutions to the Karabakh issue. The second possibility is that the so-called brilliant solutions they described were nothing more than political deception based on thought exercises, and their implementation was never actually possible. There is simply no other explanation,” Pashinyan said.
