In Paris, at the Élysée Palace, the summit of the Coalition of the Willing has begun, chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron together with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the National News Agency of Ukraine, Ukrinform, reported.

“Heads of state and government will discuss the work on security guarantees for Ukraine carried out by the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee in recent weeks, and they will draw conclusions from Russia’s refusal to accept peace following the Washington meeting on August 18,” the news agency quoted a statement by the Élysée Palace as saying.

Ten EU leaders are attending the summit in person. In addition to Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, they include Finland’s President Alexander Stubb, as well as Prime Ministers Bart De Wever of Belgium, Mette Frederiksen of Denmark, Dick Schoof of the Netherlands, and Donald Tusk of Poland.
