US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot discussed in a phone call the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, among other issues, the State Department said in a press release.
“The Secretary and Foreign Minister Barrot reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring Iran never develops or acquires a nuclear weapon. They also discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza and efforts to reach a ceasefire, ending the Russia-Ukraine war, securing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the ongoing conflict in Sudan,” the State Department said.
The call came amid unconfirmed media reports that US President Donald Trump is expected to host the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Washington this week. Yerevan has neither confirmed nor denied the report.
