Armenia’s Hovhannes Margaryan wins gold, sets new world record at European shooting championship

Armenian athlete Hovhannes Margaryan has won gold at the European Shooting Championship in the men's individual 50m moving target shotgun competition, setting a new world and European record, the International Shooting Sport Federation reported.

He garnered 297 and 294 points in the slow and fast moving targets tournaments respectively, setting the record with a cumulative 591 points.

Sweden’s Jesper Nyberg and Hungary’s Tamas Tasi won silver and bronze respectively with two points behind. 

In the men’s team ranking, Armenia (Hovhannes Margaryan, Gor Khachatryan and Hayk Minasyan) won bronze. (1738 points). Sweden won gold (1740 points) while Finland won silver.
