US slams Macron’s plan to recognize Palestinian state

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio slammed French President Emmanuel Macron after his announcement that France would recognize Palestinian statehood, calling it a “reckless decision.”

“The United States strongly rejects Emmanuel Macron’s plan to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN general assembly. This reckless decision only serves Hamas propaganda and sets back peace. It is a slap in the face to the victims of October 7th,” Rubio said in a post on X.

Macron announced that France will recognise Palestine as a state, citing the urgent need to end the war in Gaza and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
