Human Rights Defender, WHO Armenia Head discuss joint healthcare initiatives

On July 21, Armenian Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan received a delegation led by Siddhartha Sankar Datta, representative of the World Health Organization and Head of the WHO Country Office in Armenia, the Office of the Human Rights Defender has said.

Welcoming the guests, Anahit Manasyan presented the independent constitutional mandate of the Human Rights Defender, along with the main areas of work. She gave special emphasis on ensuring the right to healthcare and the effective protection of human rights in the healthcare sector.

Manasyan stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the WHO and developing joint initiatives, noting that the study and adoption of international best practices could significantly contribute to the modernization of the sector and the enhancement of human rights protection in the healthcare system.

According to the source, Siddhartha Sankar Datta highly appreciated the work of the Human Rights Defender’s Office and expressed his readiness to continue and deepen cooperation.
