Youth policy in Armenia and Georgia: Three-day youth gathering held in Armenia

Within the framework of the Armenian-Georgian Youth Gathering, a panel discussion on the topic "Youth Policy in Armenia and Georgia, and the Role of Youth in Decision-Making Processes" was held in Aparan, the Youth Capital of Armenia 2025.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Artur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Baya Kvitsiani, Deputy Governor of Aragatsotn Region Armen Grigoryan,  First Deputy Head of Aparan Community Arkady Karapetyan and President of the "Center for Youth Initiatives" NGO Artur Najaryan.

Artur Martirosyan emphasized the importance of Armenian and Georgian youth getting to know each other better and exchanging ideas. He noted that Armenians and Georgians are peoples with ancient and rich cultures and should be well acquainted with each other’s history, traditions, culture, and even cuisine. According to him, such gatherings promote cultural dialogue and help strengthen ties between young people.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted that "the political paths of the two countries are similar in many respects, especially in their choice to pursue democracy."

During the panel discussion, Deputy Minister Martirosyan presented Armenia’s state policy in the youth sector, its implemented programs, and current priorities.

Deputy Minister Baya Kvitsiani emphasized the importance of strengthening Armenian-Georgian youth relations and enhancing cooperation through experience sharing and the implementation of new programs.

The Armenian-Georgian Youth Gathering was held this year from July 9 to 11, 2025. In addition to the panel discussion, the program included leadership, youth, cultural, sports, educational, and cognitive activities.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia and organized by the “Youth Initiatives Center” NGO.
