Canada thanks Armenia for facilitating evacuation efforts amid Iranian-Israeli conflict

Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand has thanked Armenian authorities for facilitating Canadian efforts to assist its nationals during the Iranian-Israeli escalation.
“This morning, I spoke with my Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan to thank Armenia for enabling effective access for Canadian consular teams deployed to the Agarak border crossing. In turn, we were able to assist Canadians in the region recently. We also discussed and reaffirmed our commitment to democratic principles and human rights in the region,” Anand said on X.

The Iran-Israel conflict had shuttered airspace across the Middle East and some governments advised their nationals to use Iran’s land borders to leave the country.
Bilateral cooperation and regional developments were discussed during the call, the Armenian foreign ministry earlier said in its readout.
