Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and his deputy Arman Khojoyan participated in the 44th Session of the FAO Conference in Rome and a ministerial event dedicated to issues faced by landlocked developing countries.
Papoyan said that Armenia, like many other landlocked countries, due to its geographical position, mountainous terrain and dependence on transit routes passing through neighboring countries, is facing numerous challenges. He said that these factors often lead to high industrial and logistical costs and make the agrifood systems more vulnerable. “Nonetheless, Armenia is determined to utilize its agricultural potential by advancing strategic initiatives, innovative solutions and deepening international partnership,” he said.
Papoyan also presented the Crossroads of Peace project.
He reiterated Armenia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with FAO and partners in leading countries.
