The Houthis in Yemen have taken responsibility for this morning’s ballistic missile attack on southern Israel.
In a statement, the Houthis claimed to have targeted a “sensitive Israeli enemy target” in Beersheba, where sirens had sounded, according to The Times of Israel.
“The operation successfully achieved its goal,” the Houthis said, adding that they used a Zulfiqar missile.
The Israeli military said the missile was “likely” intercepted, The Times of Israel reported.
The Houthis said they would “continue to support the brotherly Palestinian people until the aggression against them stops and the Gaza blockade is lifted.”
