The "Armenia" parliamentary faction has announced its support for an initiative to express no confidence in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, proposing Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese, as a potential candidate.

A deputy from ''Armenia'' faction, Agnesa Khamoyan, has said on Facebook, citing recent developments involving the Armenian Apostolic Church and Archbishop Ajapahyan. She emphasized strong public support for the clergyman.

"Considering the situation surrounding the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, along with the existing public solidarity, and the fact that MPs Hovik Aghazaryan and Hakob Aslanyan have already declared their intention to initiate a no-confidence motion if Archbishop Ajapahyan agrees, the 'Armenia' faction has announced that it is joining the initiative, with the signatures of 28 deputies," Khamoyan stated.
