Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to France, Arman Khachatryan on Thursday met with members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French National Assembly . The meeting took place at the National Assembly of France, the Embassy has said in a statement.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khachatryan expressed gratitude to the National Assembly of France and its deputies for consistently keeping issues pertaining to Armenia and the Armenian people in the spotlight, as well as for their continued solidarity and support. He highly appreciated the unwavering commitment of the Chairman of the Friendship Group, Laurent Wauquiez, to deepening cooperation with Armenia and addressing the concerns of the Armenian people.
At the request of the deputies, Ambassador Khachatryan presented Armenia’s positions on key regional issues, including the establishment of long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus, the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, the Armenia-Azerbaijan border delimitation process, and the unblocking of regional communications in the context of the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
The Ambassador also addressed the broad Armenia-France agenda, emphasizing regular high-level contacts and the dynamic development of multi-sectoral cooperation. He highlighted the expansion of collaboration in strategically important areas and the implementation of programs supported by France that contribute to strengthening Armenia’s resilience.
Khachatryan further underlined the Armenian government’s ongoing efforts to reinforce democratic institutions in the country. The meeting also touched upon prospects for deepening cooperation with the European Union and addressed a range of regional issues.
Members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group, represented by Chairman Laurent Wauquiez, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Armenian-French friendship, supporting Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, backing efforts to achieve peace in the region, and advancing the Armenia-France strategic partnership.
