Iran vows heavy response to Israeli attack

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces said Tehran’s response to the Israeli attacks will be heavy, IRNA news agency reported. 

Brigadier General Shekarchi said on Friday morning that overnight strikes by Israel, which he said had been carried out with U.S. support, will receive a heavy response.

The US has denied any involvement. 

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that Israel sealed a “bitter and painful” destiny for itself with overnight strikes on Iran.

In a message to the nation on Friday morning, hours after Israel struck locations in Tehran and other cities, Ayatollah Khamenei vowed “a harsh punishment” for the attack.
