Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan has met with Dan Gibbons, the Corporate Vice President of AMD, the American multinational corporation and technology company.
AMD is a hardware and fabless company that designs and develops central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), system-on-chip (SoC), and high-performance computer solutions.
“The development of Armenia’s technological ecosystem and opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation were highlighted during the meeting,” the ministry said in a readout.
Minister Hayrapetyan attached importance to AMD’s presence in Armenia’s tech life and presented the government’s ongoing support programs for technological development.
Hayrapetyan said that Armenia seeks to become an international R&D center and is making investments in that direction.
Gibbons lauded the achievements in Armenia’s tech sector and engineering education.
