The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to the Republic of Armenia, Catherine Bannon, presented her credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Presidential Office has stated in a readout.
President Khachaturyan congratulated Ambassador Bannon on her appointment, emphasizing the importance of deepening bilateral relations and enhancing political dialogue between Armenia and Ireland.
“We should frequently hold mutual visits and discussions in various fields, both bilaterally and multilaterally,” the President noted.
Ambassador Bannon expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed Ireland’s interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia and deepening dialogue in a variety of areas.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Armenian-Irish relations and prospects for their development.
Particular attention was given to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially high technologies, information technologies, and telecommunications. It was noted that the implementation of new programs and initiatives in these sectors could promote innovation and support dynamic economic development.
The importance of enhancing tourism and cultural cooperation was also highlighted. Both sides emphasized the protection of democratic values and the joint efforts aimed at strengthening democratic institutions as a strong foundation for bilateral collaboration.
Additionally, the parties discussed the importance of applying Ireland’s successful experience in the context of Armenia’s economic reforms.
