Prime Minister Pashinyan meets with President of the Cypriot House of Representatives

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with President of the Cypriot House of Representatives Annita Demetriou in Yerevan.

PM Pashinyan welcomed Speaker Demetriou’s visit to Armenia, underscoring that Cyprus is a friendly country for Armenia, with whom it shares deep historic, cultural ties and common values.

The PM attached importance to the continuous development of political dialogue, as well as deepening of interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries, the prime minister’s office said in a readout.

Annita Demetriou thanked for the warm reception and reiterated Cyprus’ support for Armenia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and democratic reforms.

Several agenda items of bilateral cooperation, including development of economic ties, expansion of investment opportunities and multisector partnership between Armenia and Cyprus were discussed.

Prime Minister Pashinyan and Annita Demetriou also discussed regional and international agenda issues, addressing developments of common interest and opportunities of cooperation.

Views were exchanged around developments pertaining to the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, and in this context the importance of establishing peace and maintaining stability in the South Caucasus was underscored.
