EU looks forward to swift signature of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said the EU is looking forward to the swift signing of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace agreement.
“President of the European Council [Antonio Costa] and I congratulated the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the finalisation of the peace treaty,” Ursula von der Leyen said on X after meeting PM Pashinyan and Azeri leader Ilham Aliyev, together with Costa, during the European Political Community Summit in Tirana, Albania. “It’s a major step forward. And we're looking forward to its swift signature. The EU is ready to invest in regional connectivity – and bring the whole region closer together and closer to our Union,” she added.
