Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Moscow, Interfax reported.
The Chinese president is paying a state visit to Russia and will also attend the May 9 WWII Victory Day parade.
On May 8 Putin and Xi will hold bilateral talks.
According to Interfax, the sides are expected to adopt joint statements.
President Xi Jinping said that China-Russia relations have grown more confident, stable and resilient in the new era, according to Xinhua.
