Prime Minister chairs discussion on National Human Rights Strategy and 2023–2025 Action Plan

A working discussion, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, was held to address the implementation of the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights and the 2023–2025 Action Plan.

According to a readout issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan presented the main objectives of the strategy. These include efforts to ensure the right to a fair trial, protection from torture, the right to healthcare, the prohibition of discrimination, the protection of the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, the rights of the child, the right to life, social security, freedom of assembly, the right to education, and the strengthening of international cooperation.

The Minister detailed the activities carried out in these areas, which included the development of professional capacities, legislative initiatives, and awareness-raising efforts.

According to the statement, the discussion also addressed the events planned for 2025. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of effective and timely implementation of the measures outlined in the National Strategy and Action Plan, highlighting their significance in protecting fundamental human rights and in building a legal state.
