PM Pashinyan chairs meeting on Rescue Service development

A consultation was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the concept for the development of the Rescue Service was discussed, the Prime Minister’s Office has said in a statement.

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan noted that the development vision for the Rescue Service is a key component in completing the chain of reforms within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. She also presented solutions to the challenges outlined in the concept.

In particular, the meeting addressed issues such as the development of sectoral policy by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, monitoring of policy implementation in the field, control over hazardous production facilities, coordination of the sector at the national level during emergencies, and mandatory insurance related to these areas. The discussion also included the establishment of relevant requirements and the development of standards.

Additionally, the new structure of the Rescue Service, along with the standard structures of Yerevan and regional rescue departments, were among the topics discussed.

Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed officials to begin work on implementing mandatory insurance for hazardous production facilities. He also emphasized the importance of simultaneously updating the geoportal with data on such facilities and identifying potentially dangerous properties.
