Georgia welcomes the conclusion of the talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan around the peace agreement and hopes that the two countries sign it in the nearest future, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has said.
“Georgia welcomes the March 13, 2025 statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan on the conclusion of the talks around the terms of the peace agreement. We believe that this is the beginning of an important process that requires further joint efforts for creating a peaceful, safe, sustainable and developed South Caucasus region. We hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will soon sign the peace agreement and thereby the positive development dynamics of South Caucasus and the region’s appeal will increase,” the Georgian president said at a joint press conference with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
He said the Armenia-Georgia-Azerbaijan deputy foreign ministerial meeting on April 17 was the beginning of a mutually beneficial trilateral cooperation process.
“Georgia is unwaveringly committed to the process of establishing peace and stability in South Caucasus. We are ready to deepen regional cooperation in all directions and contribute to the formation of a fair and peaceful multipolar international order,” he said.
