EU's top diplomat announces 'upcoming visit' to Armenia

EU's high representative for foreign affairs and security policy Kaja Kallas said she will soon visit Armenia.

Kallas said she discussed her “upcoming visit” with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan. The two met in Rome during the funeral of Pope Francis.

“In Rome, I discussed my upcoming visit to Armenia with President Vahagn Khachaturyan. I reaffirmed the EU’s strong commitment to deepening ties and exchanged views on the situation in South Caucasus, including efforts towards Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization, and peace in the region,” Kallas said on X.

Kallas visited Azerbaijan on April 25. Various MEPs criticized her for her trip and statements made in Baku.
