Serviceman of NSS border troops dies, shot from own service weapon suspected

A conscript serving in one of the units of the National Security Service (NSS) border troops in Armenia’s Syunik region died on April 25 after sustaining a gunshot wound, according to the preliminary data, from his service weapon.

According to the NSS, criminal proceedings have been initiated to clarify the circumstances of the incident, and a preliminary investigation is currently underway.
