EU supports efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve lasting and sustainable peace - Kaja Kallas

At a press conference in Baku with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, the EU High Representative and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, stated that Brussels supports the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace and welcomes the agreement on the text of the peace treaty.

"The European Union supports the efforts of both sides to achieve sustainable and lasting peace. Armenia and Azerbaijan now have such an opportunity. I welcome the agreement reached on the text of the peace treaty and look forward to the next steps," Kallas noted.

Azerbaijan is an important partner in the region.

Together, the EU and Azerbaijan have made significant progress in strengthening their ties.
