PM Pashinyan meets with IMF Mission Chief

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Armenia Iva Petrova, who is completing her mission, and her successor Alexander Tieman.

PM Pashinyan attached importance to the cooperation with the IMF for the benefit of Armenian economic development, the prime minister’s office said in a readout. The Prime Minister said that the economic activity trends have been maintained in the first quarter of this year and the government’s steps are aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth.

The discussion also touched upon the results of the 5th review of the ongoing program carried out in Armenia in cooperation with the IMF. The sides were pleased to note the results and discussed upcoming steps. They also exchanged views about the financial sector, the improvement of the investment environment, promotion of economic activity, overcoming existing risks and other issues.
