Armenia's FM, Kazakh president discuss various areas of cooperation

On the sidelines of his official visit to Kazakhstan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was received by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on key issues in bilateral relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan. The parties commended the recent active dynamics of high-level political dialogue and discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements.

Mirzoyan and Tokayev exchanged views on efforts to develop a strategic partnership between the two countries and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The discussion emphasized the implementation of joint initiatives in the economic, trade, transport, innovation, and education sectors.

In the context of economic development and connectivity, both sides underscored the importance of maximizing the efficiency of transport and logistics channels and increasing cargo transportation volumes.

The Armenian Foreign Minister and the Kazakh President also exchanged views on international and regional issues. Mirzoyan expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s stance in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, particularly in the signing of a peace treaty. He reiterated Armenia’s commitment to signing the treaty, emphasizing that it would be possible only if both sides demonstrate political will.
