Azerbaijan fails to produce any evidence in support of accusations of ceasefire breach

Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan has said that Azerbaijan hasn’t produced any evidence in support of its accusations of border shootings over the course of its ongoing disinformation campaign.

“We are telling them provide us evidence, videos, if you have such, we are ready to investigate,” Papikyan told reporters on Friday. “So far, we haven’t received anything.”

Papikyan's comments came amid an ongoing Azeri disinformation campaign falsely accusing Armenia of breaching the ceasefire on the border.

On March 13, Armenia and Azerbaijan announced that the negotiations around the peace treaty terms have been successfully concluded. Days later, the Azerbaijani government started a massive disinformation campaign falsely accusing Armenia of firing at its military positions across the border. The accusations have been numerously denied by the Armenian military. Furthermore, the Azerbaijani authorities refused to provide any evidence in support of their accusations. The report on border shootings was also denied by the EU monitoring mission in Armenia.
