The Armenian government has established the post of a defense attaché to the UN.
The decision was made at the Cabinet meeting.
The purpose of the appointment of the defense attaché is to “deepen the military and military-political cooperation between Armenia and the UN, and expand Armenia’s participation in international peacekeeping actions.”
The Armenian government highlights the development of cooperation with the UNDPO (Department of Peace Operations), which will contribute to increasing the capabilities of Armenian peacekeeping forces.
The appointment of the defense attaché will also ensure the presentation of Armenia’s military and military-political priorities in the international arena and deepen partnership with various UN departments.
