Aleppo Governor, Armenia’s Consul General discuss expansion of relations

Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib has met with Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo Ara Avetisyan to discuss expansion of economic and cultural cooperation particularly in promoting investment projects and tourism.

The Aleppo Governorate said in a readout that the sides discussed the situation in the Armenian community of Aleppo, Syria. Governor Azzam al-Gharib “confirmed the Governorate’s support to establish strategic partnership with Armenia in areas of infrastructures and economic growth, underscoring the importance of preserving the common cultural heritage,” the Aleppo governorate said.

Last week Governor al-Gharib’s deputy Ali Hanoura also visited the Armenian consulate general.
