Georgian FM highlights regional significance of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace

Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili has lauded Armenia and Azerbaijan for ‘finding the path to peace’.

Speaking at Raisina Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi, India, the Georgian FM said that peace and security in South Caucasus are the main factors for the broader region’s stability. She said that Georgia is glad to see Yerevan and Baku having found the path to peace.

The Georgian FM said that the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has strategic importance not only for the two countries but the entire South Caucasus.

“Georgia has always supported the efforts of its neighbors, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and we are happy that they have found the path to peace, which is extremely important for the entire region,” minister Botchorishvili said.

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on March 13 that the negotiations around the peace treaty terms have been successfully concluded. The Armenian government has expressed readiness to start discussions with Azerbaijan around the date and venue of signing the agreement.
