Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan agreement on peace treaty

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi has welcomed the conclusion of the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the terms of the peace treaty.

In a press statement, Albudaiwi expressed hope that the agreement would mark a new phase in building strong relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on cooperation and mutual respect and characterized by security and stability.

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on March 13 that the negotiations around the peace treaty terms have been successfully concluded. The Armenian government has expressed readiness to start discussions with Azerbaijan around the date and location of signing the agreement.
