Malta hopes for swift signing of Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty

Malta has welcomed the finalization of the peace treaty text between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In a statement, Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg commended the two countries and expressed hope for a swift signing of the peace treaty.

“Malta welcomes the announcement on the progress achieved on the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan - a significant step towards stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus. We commend both sides for their commitment to dialogue and hope for a swift signature of the final agreement,” Borg said in a post on X.

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on March 13 that the negotiations around the peace treaty terms have been successfully concluded. The Armenian government has expressed readiness to start discussions with Azerbaijan around the date and venue of signing the agreement.
