Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has announced that Moscow welcomes the conclusion of Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations on the draft peace treaty.
“We support this important step toward the comprehensive normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, as envisaged in the 2020–2022 trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia,” TASS quoted Zakharova as saying.
She stated that Russia is ready to provide a platform for dialogue between representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia to facilitate the normalization of bilateral relations.
"We reaffirm our offer to host discussions between Azerbaijani and Armenian representatives on a Russian platform within the framework of signing a peace agreement and addressing the full range of Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement issues," she said.
Zakharova emphasized that Moscow seeks to contribute to the signing of a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan and the unblocking of transport communications in the region.
