45 aftershocks have been registered so far after the magnitude 4,6 earthquake of Saturday morning, authorities said.
“45 aftershocks were registered after the magnitude 4,6 earthquake that was registered 6km north-east of the town of Spitak at 09:26 today,” interior ministry spokesperson Narek Sargsyan said in a statement.
He said that the strongest aftershock measured magnitude 3,2 and was registered 9km north of Spitak.
The aftershocks will continue for some time and people could feel mild or moderate seismic events during that time, he added.
