Army Chief discusses cooperation with Greek counterpart

The delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defence-Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, is on an official visit to the Hellenic Republic at the invitation of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the defense ministry said in a press release.

On February 27, an official welcoming ceremony was held in honor of Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, featuring a guard of honor and a military orchestra. The national anthems of both countries were played.

Following a private discussion between the Chiefs of the General Staff, an expanded-format meeting took place. The discussions focused on Armenia-Greece cooperation in the defence sector, with both sides highly appreciating the progress achieved thus far. They reviewed past collaborative efforts and outlined further steps to enhance bilateral defence relations.

Additionally, the parties discussed cooperation within the trilateral Armenia-Greece-Cyprus format in the defence domain.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on regional security issues.
