Minister of Internal Affairs, EU Ambassador discuss reforms, visa liberalization

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan on February 26 met with Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia.

Sargsyan thanked the EU for the effective support for ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinate departments, the ministry said in a readout.

Ambassador Maragos attached importance to the effective cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and said that the EU is ready to continue and expand the support for the reforms process.

The process of reforms in the ministry and its subordinate departments, the results and new planned joint steps were discussed.

The EU ambassador lauded the joint work implemented with the first assessment mission for visa liberalization. The actions ahead of the second assessment mission were outlined.

The EU ambassador and the Minister outlined the future directions of cooperation and upcoming actions aimed at continuing the effective implementation of reforms.
