Events scheduled as part of International Francophonie Day discussed at Armenian ministry

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (ESCS) Zhanna Andreasyan convened a meeting with the ambassadors of Francophone countries in the Republic of Armenia, chaired by Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Armenia Lukas Rosenkranz.
ESCS Deputy Ministers Arthur Martirosyan and Daniel Danielyan attended the meeting.
The bi-monthly programs and events to be implemented as part of the International Francophonie Day were discussed, the ministry said in a press release.
ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the attendees, highlighting the public involvement in the preparation for Francophonie events.
“Over 500 educational and cultural institutions are involved in Francophonie events, which indicates that the process is accelerating annually, which, I am sure, will contribute to the advancement of Francophonie in Armenia,” stated the Minister.
According to her, the events will also serve as unique platforms to talk about the values that unite Francophone countries: peace, democracy, humanity, etc.
Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Lukas Rosenkranz emphasized the significance of the contributions made by Francophonie countries in promoting values and popularizing the French language and remarked that the objective of Francophonie is to foster economic, political, and cultural cooperation. He emphasized the significance of hosting the 2027 Francophonie Games in Armenia and expressed his commitment to supporting these efforts.
During the discussion, the key programs to be implemented by the RA ESCS Ministry in collaboration with educational and cultural organizations were introduced, including “The 2025 Goncourt Prize in Armenia,” “Francophonie Stops on a Cultural Journey,” “Aznavour: A Journey Through Time and Music,” and “Manouchian: Today at 15:00”, etc.
Additionally, the ambassadors individually outlined the events scheduled for the two-month period, which will be executed in diverse formats and across numerous institutions. These mainly include film screenings also within the framework of the Francophonie Film Festival, classical music concerts, lectures dedicated to Charles Aznavour, etc.
The meeting also addressed several current organizational issues regarding the 10th Francophonie Games, scheduled for 2027 in Armenia.
