Gampr chosen as the official symbol of the 2025 IIHF World Championship Division IV in Yerevan

The Gampr has been chosen as the official symbol of the 2025 IIHF World Championship Division IV, which will be held in Armenia, the Hockey Federation announced.

 The expert jury recognized the work of author Ella Amatuni as the best.

The Armenian Gampr is a native breed of flock guardian dog from the Armenian Highlands, known for its strength, agility, and endurance. The breed has a strong, massive build and thick fur, which protects it in all weather conditions.

"Being such a rare breed, it has become a unique symbol of the Armenian nation. That is why I think the Gampr is the perfect mascot to represent Armenia at the World Ice Hockey Championships," said Ella Amatuni, presenting her work.

The 2025 IIHF World Championship Division IV will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, from April 13 to 19, 2025.
