Armenia continues to have constructive approach in the talks with Azerbaijan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan has said.
Kostanyan told reporters on Thursday that Armenia hopes to receive a response from Azerbaijan to its latest proposals soon.
The Deputy FM disagreed with assessments that describe the talks as having entered a deadlock.
“In any case, a session of the delimitation commissions took place, there is an agreement that a new session shall take place soon,” he said.
Speaking about the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization talks, the Deputy FM underscored that Armenia has been waiting for a response to its proposals from Azerbaijan for a very long time now.
“Regarding the proposals, we hope to receive answers in a short period of time in order to be able to continue the process. As before, Armenia still continues to be engaged constructively in the negotiations,” he said.
Commenting on the regular threats and belligerent rhetoric by Azerbaijan towards Armenia, Kostanyan said such statements seek to ensure an escalatory backdrop in the region.
“Armenia will not give in to such provocations and will continue to maintain a constructive posture in the negotiations,” he said.
