Minister Andreasyan, Ambassador Ferranti highlight Armenia-Italy great potential for expanding cooperation

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Armenia, Alessandro Ferranti.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Artur Martirosyan, also attended the meeting.

According to the ministry, Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on assuming office. She expressed confidence that during his tenure, cooperation between Armenia and Italy in the fields of education, science, culture, and sports would further deepen.

Speaking about cooperation in education, the Minister emphasized the importance of programs aimed at developing the Italian language in educational institutions. 

She proposed considering the implementation of joint programs in areas of mutual interest, including opportunities provided by the EU, particularly through the "Horizon Europe" and "Erasmus+" programs, as well as expanding inter-university ties in higher and postgraduate education.

The Minister also highlighted the significance of joint cultural initiatives, noting the great potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm reception and stated that he undertakes his mission in Armenia with great enthusiasm and responsibility. Ferranti underscored the close historical and centuries-old ties between the two nations, their common values, expressing confidence in the great potential for cooperation, especially in culture.

Minister Andreasyan and Ambassador Ferranti reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding bilateral relations.
