Prime Minister Pashinyan speaks about the issue of enclaves in negotiations process with Azerbaijan

Armenia cannot abandon the agenda of enclaves in the negotiations with Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.

“We cannot abandon the agenda of enclave,” he said at a press conference. “If I were to say that there is no agenda of enclave, that would be a ground for criminal liability in Armenia, because in the form of Artsvashen Armenia has sovereign territory which we cannot abandon,” Pashinyan said.

Armenia will speak about the topic regardless of Azerbaijan raising the topic of enclaves or not. “We can’t not raise the matter. That topic will inadvertently be in the dimension of our discussions, and each of us will bring their arguments. If theoretically we were to want Azerbaijan to not have anything to do with this matter the price would be to abandon the issue. But who and how can abandon the matter?”
