The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan stated that attacking Armenia is equivalent to attacking a democratic state, attacking Armenia means attacking democratic values.
“Democracy should be viewed from a security perspective, because security is the greatest challenge for Armenia today. Therefore, it must be said that democracy brings security to the borders of Armenia. Initially, we were waiting for the reaction of the security systems, but we did not hear anything that could change anything on the ground. Instead, we saw direct, addressed statements from democratic states. I am sure that it changes a lot on the ground,” Simonyan said during a panel discussion titled "Together for Peace and Democracy" taking place in Yerevan.
Simonyan noted that being a democratic state is the greatest security system for Armenia.
The Parliament Speaker stressed that Armenia will cooperate with its partners to become more democratic day by day.
“This visit, this conference brings a new level of security to our country,” he noted.
